Arctic regions may accommodate cargo drones
President of Russia Vladimir Putin issued the instruction on addressing the issue of setting up landing sites for cargo drones in Arctic territories.
A list of instructions following the Russian President’s working trip to the Murmansk Region on March 27, 2025 is posted on the Kremlin website.
“A number of instructions to the Government concern the development of infrastructure in the Arctic for cargo drone landing sites to ensure deliveries to hard-to-access areas.” These instructions concern Russian regions whose territories or part of territories constitute the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The same concerns freight deliveries to territories separated from the mainland by water bodies.
The deadline is July 1, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin shall oversee the implementation of these instructions.
