Murmansk Region artisans to be exempt from mandatory product labeling
This new measure will reduce the financial burden on entrepreneurs producing local creative products and will represent an important step towards preserving cultural traditions, according to the regional government’s press service.
The exemption from mandatory labeling will apply to light industry products, footwear, and certain categories of children’s goods.
Products will be classified as artisan goods if they are produced by individual entrepreneurs or self-employed individuals who are registered and operate in the Murmansk Region, have annual income not exceeding 2.4 million rubles, and create products that are the final result of their own labor.
“In this way, we are supporting entrepreneurs who produce original, one-of-a-kind items that reflect the individuality of the artisan and the unique traditions of the northern region,” said Marta Govor, Minister of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Murmansk Region.
