Krasnoyarsk Territory announces new support measures for students from indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North
In the second half of the year, 346 students from indigenous minorities of the North received additional scholarships, according to the press service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory government.
In addition, 118 students were reimbursed for tuition costs, and 183 students received compensation for travel expenses to their place of study.
State support is provided to students representing indigenous minorities and living in Taimyr, Evenkia, and the Turukhansky, Yeniseisky, Severo-Yeniseisky, and Bogotolsky municipal districts, who are enrolled in universities and vocational schools outside their home municipalities.
“Support measures for students from indigenous minorities remain in high demand: more than 400 people make use of them each year. We will resume accepting applications for these payments from February 1 to April 1,” said Anton Narchuganov, head of the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support of Indigenous Minorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
