Craftspeople in Khabarovsk Territory will be exempt from obligation to mark textiles
A new law will abolish marking of the textiles and clothes that are items of folk-art crafts of indigenous small peoples, and of the products made by manual or combined methods using embroidery, appliqué, mosaic, lace, and other techniques, as reported by the Khabarovsk Territory Duma press service.
“Today, goods marking requires considerable costs involved in the purchase of special equipment, software integration, codes registration and application. For many handicraft masters such costs constitute a serious obstacle slowing down their development and increasing the price of their products,” underscored Chair of the Duma Committee on Industry, Entrepreneurship and Infrastructure Valery Postelnik.
The adoption of the new law is expected to encourage development of traditional crafts in the Territory and remove administrative barriers for manufacturers.
