Krasnoyarsk experts develop eco-friendly construction materials for the Arctic
Experts in Krasnoyarsk have developed eco-friendly wood-waste boards and beams which can be used in construction in northern latitudes.
According to the Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology, the prototype boards contain no harmful adhesives, formaldehydes and other binders. The new environmentally friendly materials require no specialized recycling.
Moreover, pre-shaped beams and environmentally friendly wood-waste boards have the same properties as massive timber. Their low thermal conduction makes it possible to build two-story homes with walls at least 50 mm thick. Scientists believe that these materials can be used for Arctic construction projects.
