There are plans to spend over 8 billion rubles on projects linked with the Arctic zone, Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Ruslan Kukharuk told participants in the 4th All-Russian Youth Forum The Arctic – The Ice Has Broken.

“We have drafted and approved a regional program for developing the Arctic zone of the Yugra. <…> Apart from building facilities of the engineering, transport and social infrastructure, this includes measures to improve people’s living standards,” he emphasized.

According to the Governor, the region prioritizes funding for social and transport infrastructure projects in the Beryozovsky and Beloyarsky districts.
