Ministry of Transport discusses upgrading of Yakutian airports

Olyokminsk airport is going to modernize its runway, checkpoint, fire tanks, weather equipment, sewage treatment facilities, as well as the fences with technical security equipment until 2027, as announced by the Ministry of Transport press service following a meeting between Deputy Minister Valentin Ivanov and Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev.

There are also plans to build new airport Zyryanka between 2027 and 2030. The construction works will be performed without stopping fights at the existing airport.

The Ust-Nera airport complex and the reconstructed artificial runway at the Yakutsk Airport are also awaiting construction and technical expert assessment. The facilities are currently nearing full completion, with the level of readiness approaching 100 percent.

Moreover, participants in the meeting also discussed upgrading Mirny, Polyarny and Nyurba airports.
