The Ministry of Transport discusses transport infrastructure development in the Nenets Autonomous Area

The region will receive about 600 million rubles in 2026 for resurfacing roads and building new ones, following a meeting between Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin and Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area Irina Gekht, the press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.

There are plans to rebuild a section of the Naryan-Mar – Usinsk road, including construction of a new bridge over the Kuya River. The bridge will facilitate all-year-round traffic between the region and the Komi Republic and will connect local roads with federal motorways. The officials are studying the possibility of co-financing the bridge construction project from the federal budget, while drafting a six-year plan for road construction.

This year, over 95,400 passengers will fly along 11 routes. The Ministry of Transport will allocate 465.6 million rubles for these programs. To promote sustained air traffic, 33 airfields will be modernized in remote Extreme North areas.
