Pier #1 under reconstruction in the Port of Vanino, Khabarovsk Territory
Located in the northwestern Vanina Bay, Tatar Strait, Sea of Japan, the pier will be extended to over 163 meters in length. The project’s first stage involves the dismantling of its upper structure, a reinforced concrete foundation mat and its wing walls, Glavgosekspertiza press service reports.
It is also planned to lay utility systems, install ship power poles and hydrants, introduce warning and fire extinguisher systems, build rainwater catchment installations with purification and dumping apps, and put up a floodlight tower.
The project-related port infrastructure will also include lay-up piers for port vessels.
“Icebreakers of the Kapitan Khlebnikov class will be laid up at the pier’s southern extremity. The laid-up vessels will be connected to the port’s power supply and water supply systems,” Glavgosekspertiza representative Valery Ovchinnikov said.
