Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic approves 2026-2028 northern deliveries plan

The program will guarantee reliable and rhythmic northern shipments. In 2026, its main goals include efforts to expand the assortment of goods and making them more affordable, as per the Government’s press service.

Addressing a meeting, Alexei Chekunkov also discussed issues of more effectively supplying for remote and hard-to-reach territories in 19 regions.

According to the Minister, more reliable fuel deliveries to the regions are facilitated by listing high-priority northern shipments. The plan of northern shipments for 2025 has been fulfilled completely, and the regions have received 3.4 million metric tons of freight. This year, there are plans to deliver over 3.9 million metric tons of freight to northern territories.

The 2026 northern shipments program will receive three times more funding using budgetary loans.

For its part, Yakutia has established trade and logistic centers for expanding the assortment of goods that are being supplied. The Government will copy Yakutia’s example and set up similar centers in northern regions. At the same time, there are plans to expand e-commerce networks in northern townships.
