Residents start to move in Amur Region’s first rental apartment building constructed under presidential affordable housing program
The new residential complex, located in the village of Chigiri near Blagoveshchensk, offers a total apartment area of 5,400 square meters. The housing is primarily intended for employees in education, healthcare, science, culture, and sports, according to the government press service.
“The first residents in the Amur Region will be 92 families, who are receiving the keys to fully finished, ready-to-move-in apartments. Overall, around 2,500 rental apartments are planned for the region under the presidential program,” Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said.
According to Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov, by 2027, a total of 2,470 subsidized rental apartments will be available in Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, the Oktyabrsky District, and the village of Chigiri.
“We expect that the implementation of this program will help retain qualified specialists in the region and attract new, promising professionals who will contribute to the Amur Region’s continued development,” he emphasized.
The federal government has allocated 87 billion rubles for the affordable rental housing program in the Far East and the Arctic. Thanks to preferential financing mechanisms and subsidies from both federal and regional budgets, rental rates are approximately four times lower than the average market level.
