Investors to pour half a trillion rubles into developing Primorye’s ports

A total of 30 major projects are planned in the Primorye Territory, said the regional Minister of Economic Development Andrei Blokhin.

“Over 500 billion rubles will be channeled into projects that will increase the annual capacity of Primorye’s ports to 300 million metric tons,” the minister noted.

The region’s ports already handle over 160 million metric tons of cargo annually, with container traffic exceeding 2.3 million units, Blokhin added.

“This accounts for almost 50 percent of the country’s total maritime container traffic,” he noted.

Key development projects include the establishment of the Eastern Hub of the Northern Sea Route, with a capacity of over 1.6 million containers, the Eurasian Fish Center for processing 230,000 metric tons of seafood, and the Artyom Logistics Center, designed to handle 1 million containers, the press service of the regional government reported.
