Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District chairs meeting on national projects in Primorye Territory
The meeting participants discussed measures for supporting investors and plans to establish two logistic facilities, an industrial park, a wind farm, and building residential areas in the Amur Region. The projects will make it possible to channel an additional 150 billion-plus rubles into the Far East, according to the press service of the Amur Region’s government.
“The Amur Region has accumulated more investment than any other Far Eastern territory. In the past 10 years, investment projects, implemented in the Amur Region with state support, have attracted over 2 trillion rubles into the region. The region implements over 70 state-backed investment projects with a total investment volume of 2.5 trillion rubles. Of this number, 22 are already operating, and almost 15,000 jobs have been created,” Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said.
Under agreements with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, residents of the Amurskaya priority development territory are implementing 52 projects that have received 2.4 trillion rubles’ worth of investment, and they are creating 18,000 jobs. Twenty-two projects are already operating. Businesses have contributed 2 trillion rubles to regional development, and the new enterprises have hired about 12,000 people.
According to Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov, local authorities have listed promising investment projects in high-priority spheres, including agriculture, production of mineral resources, logistics and the tourism industry.
“The regional economy is to receive an estimated 500 million rubles’ worth of investment, and several alternative power-industry projects will be implemented,” Orlov noted.
