Residents of the Arctic zone in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area to be eligible to expanded tax benefits
Since 2026, residents of the Arctic zone in the Yamal Peninsula, who have entered into an agreement on investment activity in the area will apply a single 15-percent preferential rate to the profit tax payable to the Area’s budget and a zero-percent rate to the profit tax payable to the federal budget. It was stated by Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Governor Dmitry Artyukhov at his working meeting with Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexei Chekunkov.
Earlier tax benefits were only granted to those residents, whose projects related to certain economic activities. Now, such requirements have been cancelled and the benefits will be available to all the investors using the general tax system.
The new measure will be effective for five years since the first profit is gained from a project implemented under the agreement.
“The region plans to carry out over 180 investment projects worth more than 55 billion rubles in total,” noted Dmitry Artyukhov.
To date, the Area has 168 registered residents implementing over 180 investment projects that are to create 2,857 new jobs. Investors take part in construction, develop logistics, transport infrastructure and tourism.
