A project of the academic school Geotechnical Engineering in the Cryolithozone that was unveiled at the Ammosov Northeastern Federal University calls for merging the academic community, industrial partners and the specialized education system, as per the press service of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
There ae plans to develop educational and academic aspects within the framework of the engineering school; these aspects will deal with construction equipment and technologies, applied geology, the mining sector, the oil and gas sector and geodesy, as well as machine-building.
Promising research aspects in the cryolithozone will include the creation of the engineering infrastructure, cadastral projects, engineering solutions, geo-technology, construction and operation of underground structures, as well as geo-technical monitoring.
Rector of the Northeastern Federal University Anatoly Nikolayev noted that the practically oriented academic course and cooperation with industrial partners played an important role in the high-quality training of specialists.
“Industrial partners are actively meeting the university community halfway and opening up their platforms for jointly training young specialists. Students obtain the most important knowledge at specific locations,” he added.
