Murmansk Region to offer free excursions for its residents
The costs of organizing excursions for certain categories of citizens have been included in the draft regional budget for 2026, said Murmansk Region Minister of Tourism and Entrepreneurship Marta Govor.
She noted that the budgetary policy in tourism for 2026 was formulated with due account of the strategic objective to make the Murmansk Region a round-the-year tourist enter in the Arctic.
At least 13 tourist facilities will receive certain support from the regional budget next year.
A considerable part of the funds will be applied to build and upgrade tourist infrastructure, including to provide public amenities at the popular sites for observing northern lights.
“The subsidies provided in the regional budget for developing the tourist infrastructure will not only increase the comfort of travelling in the Murmansk Region, but will also support the region’s business, which is very important,” said Marta Govor.
