Production of Arctic algae cosmetics begins in Arkhangelsk Region

The Arkhangelsk Algae Plant has begun producing skincare products made from White Sea kelp and fucus, Arkhangelsk Region Governor Alexander Tsybulsky announced.

According to the Governor, the key advantage of the new facility is its domestically produced equipment, which meets modern technological standards.

“The new facility has all the necessary conditions for the advanced processing of valuable Arctic resources, which contributes to the growth of added value of products and the expansion of export potential. This will also enable the company to advance import substitution, particularly in the high-tech cosmetics segment,” Tsybulsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also noted that local Arctic algae contains 30–35 percent more beneficial components than algae from other parts of the world, making Arkhangelsk Region products especially valuable and popular.
