Yakutia aims for record 50 million tons of coal production in 2025
Yakutia is on track to set a new record in coal mining, with production expected to surpass 50 million tons this year, regional head Aisen Nikolayev announced. In the first seven months alone, the region produced 30 million tons of coal – a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the republic’s government press service, Yakutia is the leading coal producer in the Russian Far East and holds second place nationwide.
Between January and July, 14.8 million tons of Yakut had been exported. By the end of 2025, exports are projected to exceed 26.3 million tons.
