Yury Trutnev instructs Emergencies Ministry to amend legislation for protecting Far East from emergency situations
Speaking at a meeting on eliminating administrative barriers during clean-up operations, Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy Yury Trutnev noted that such clean-up operations ran counter to current 65legislation, and that the issue had to be resolved, as per the Government’s press service.
“I have been working in the Far East for over ten years, and I always try to visit territories where people’s lives and health are threatened because I believe that this is my duty. It was impossible to make frequent timely decisions because of current legislative restrictions,” Trutnev noted.
In this connection, Trutnev instructed the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, together with the concerned federal ministries and agencies, to analyze and propose the required legislative amendments for more effectively dealing with regional emergency situations.
