The administration of Salekhard, the capital of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, signed a directive on registering the regulations of the Gorno-Knyazevskaya self-governing territory of indigenous small –numbered peoples of the North, as per the municipal administration’s website.

“To register the regulations of the Gorno-Knyazevskaya self-governing territory of small indigenous peoples of the North,” the document reads, in part.

Earlier, the Legislature of the area capital approved the township’s borders. The registered regulations formalize the rights of indigenous Northerners to territorial self-government.
