A rating survey, unveiled at the 5th Young Scientists Congress 2025, primarily evaluated financial support for regional grant programs, the share of young researchers in the region and measures to improve their living conditions, according to the press service of the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.

Yamal scored the most impressive results in financing grant research projects, and the share of local young researchers has reached 60 percent.

According to Nikita Marchenkov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education of the Presidential Council for Science and Education of the Russian Federation, the rating survey makes it possible to compile an integral database of measures for supporting young researchers. Other regions can also copy this experience.  

“This year, we analyzed the performance of 82 regions, based on information from the staffs of regional leaders, and listed 272 examples of support measures,” he added.
