Nomadic families in Taimyr to get mobile houses
Press Service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s Government reports that this year, mobile dwellings will be made available to 66 families: 58 families of reindeer herders and 8 families of fishermen and hunters.
“A mobile dwelling set includes prefabricated components and materials to be used in the assembly of a mobile house, aircraft-grade tarpaulin, a stove with a chimney, a gasoline-powered generator, a portable transmitter-receiver with an in-built solar panel, and some thermal insulator,” Head of the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support for Small-Numbered Indigenous Peoples of the North Anton Narchuganov said.
The category entitled to a portable house includes inhabitants of Taimyr aged 18 years or older belonging to the small-numbered indigenous peoples of the North, engaged in traditional industries, and leading a nomadic way of life. Applications are accepted until April 1.
Almost 23.5 million rubles has been allocated from the Krasnoyarsk Territory’ budget for the purchase of mobile houses.
