The Government of Yakutia set forth criteria for selecting participants in a traditional cattle-breeding program, as well as requirements for obtaining subsidies to implement animal-husbandry projects.The republican state budget will stipulate 25,249,000 rubles for supporting traditional livestock-breeding subsectors.According to Yakutia’s First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Policy, Anna Struchkova, the subsidies aim to protect and develop the gene pool of Yakutian cattle under a regional state program for developing agriculture and regulating agricultural produce, raw materials and food markets.
