Russia’s small indigenous small–numbered peoples to celebrate two new holidays
On Unity Day, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed executive orders on instituting two holidays, the Day of Languages of Russia’s Peoples and the Day of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of Russia.
The Day of Languages of Russian Peoples has been instituted for preserving the languages of the country’s ethnic groups and will be celebrated every September 8.
The Day of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of Russia has been instituted to preserve the traditional lifestyle of indigenous ethnic groups and will be celebrated every April 30.
