Inhabitants of remote villages in Chukotka get more access to medical assistance

The Chukotka Autonomous Area continues to implement a sweeping overhaul of its healthcare system, with four medical facilities put into operation for inhabitants of remote villages, the local Government reports.   

A new village first-aid station has been built in the village of Uyelkal. An outpatient clinic has opened in Anyuisk. A district hospital for 10 beds of round-the-clock inpatient facility has been put into operation in the village of Rytkuchi. A new diagnostic unit has been added to the district hospital in the village of Ugolnye Kopi.

Opened as part of the federal project to upgrade the healthcare system, these facilities boast advanced diagnostic equipment, including digital X-ray machines, computerized tomographs, and ultrasonic diagnostic equipment.
