New support measures introduced for minority school students in Yamal

The Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area   has expanded support measures intended for school students from the Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North (ISNPN).  Now children aged 14 years and older will be eligible to receive digital vouchers worth 30,000 rubles to purchase clothing and footwear for the school season, according to the Government’s report.

This new initiative is aimed at indigenous families in Yamal that maintain the traditional way of life. Students from the Polar Star Education Center in the Taz District will be the first to benefit from the project. If successful, the measure will be extended.

To apply for the voucher, parents must submit an application addressed to the director of the YNAA Education Department by September 30. The voucher will be valid until the end of 2025.
