Nenets Autonomous Area’s reindeer breeders to be reimbursed for corral construction
The local subsidy for modernizing reindeer-breeding enterprises will increase from 60 to 95 percent, according to the press service of the Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area.
This type of support is provided to reindeer-breeding farms, so that they can build, reconstruct and modernize the essential infrastructure; it also reimburses farmers for their actual expenditures.
“The price of sawn materials and nets has skyrocketed. From now on, the subsidy will cover not only slaughterhouses, refrigerators, workshops but the construction of corrals as well,” regional governor Irina Gekht noted.
This year, two farms that have overhauled their assets are eligible for higher subsidies.
