Yury Trutnev chairs meeting on implementing comprehensive renovation program for Norilsk

Five out of 18 projects, stipulated by a comprehensive program for the renovation of Norilsk, have been implemented. In all, six apartment buildings were completed, and subsoil layers stabilized under several facilities using thermal technologies; 11 housing and utility facilities were repaired. An additional 13 projects are currently being fulfilled, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev, who chaired a meeting on renovating the city.

Since 2024, 299 apartments have been commissioned, and 20 rundown and dilapidated buildings have been demounted following the relocation of their tenants. In all, 1,412 certificates have been issued for relocating people to areas with favorable climate and socio-economic conditions. A social security agency and a kindergarten for 236 children have been renovated. Bus fleets have been upgraded, and 121 heated bus stops installed. A fire brigade facility has been built in the Oganer District.

According to Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, the comprehensive plan for renovating Norilsk will receive 120 billion rubles until 2035. Federal funding accounts for 24 billion of this amount; the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Nornickel will contribute 14.7 billion and 81.3 billion rubles each.

The meeting participants also discussed a long-term plan for developing the Norilsk – Dudinka agglomeration, approved by the Government on October 27, 2025. The plan stipulates 31 projects aiming to develop cultural, sports and education sectors and to improve the utility infrastructure.
