According to the Government press service, parliamentary hearings at the State Duma resulted in a decision to extend the Far Eastern allowance, which makes it possible to reduce the electric power rates in the region until 2035.

The funds will be used to develop power engineering facilities in isolated areas.

In addition, Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic identified the key areas of the power engineering development program until 2030: improving capacity efficiency, creating economic conditions for promptly covering capacity shortages, and ensuring long-term development of the region's electric power industry after 2030.

“It is important for the power industry in the Far East to develop at a rate outpacing current economic needs, thereby creating conditions for the regions’ dynamic development,” noted Alexei Chekunkov.
