Murmansk university to test house facades in the Arctic
Researchers at the Murmansk Arctic University will organize an experimental testing range to study the effectiveness of houses with different facades in a Far North environment exacerbated by high wind load, university press service reports.
The experiment will focus on four façade systems to be installed on the Kola Gulf coast. Parameters to be gauged are room heat loss, humidity, and power consumption to maintain the necessary microclimate.
Following the experiment, the researchers will determine which façade system is best suited to the Arctic climate and what building materials are more expedient for use in construction projects in the region.
