Murmansk Region and a Chinese shipping company enter into cooperation agreement
The Murmansk Region Government has signed an agreement with NewNew Shipping Line, a Chinese shipping company, on regular container freight via the Murmansk port and its infrastructure development, according to region Governor Andrey Chibis.
“The agreement between the Murmansk Region Government and NewNew Shipping Line was signed at a working meeting with the company president Fang Yuxin. We determined two key areas: regular container freight via the Murmansk year-round sea port and joint development of its infrastructure which will promote cargo turnover and improve the logistics on a major Arctic route,” he said.
The cooperation will not only give a new impetus to developing the Murmansk port but will also enhance the role of the Transarctic transport corridor, including the Northern Sea Route as a key way for international trade and economic interaction between countries, Chibis underscored.
