Tin deposit in Yakutia to receive electricity from Nuclear Power Plant
The small nuclear power plant under construction in Yakutia will supply electricity to the alluvial tin and secondary elements deposit Tirekhtyakh Stream in Ust-Yansky District, Yakutia. The power supply contract will be effective since 2031, according to the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic.
The power consumption is expected to reach 8 MWh in summer during the production season and 4 MWh in winter. Currently, the facility receives power from own diesel station. The company that owns the deposit has to be ready to come over to a new energy source by readjusting its industrial equipment by 2031.
Noteworthy, the project implementation will give an impetus to industrial development, help reduce the costs of diesel fuel delivery and contribute to decreasing the environmental load on the Arctic.
