Nenets Autonomous Area approves 2026 budget

Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area, Irina Gekht, emphasized that the regional government intended to engage all the available tools for working with the Presidential Executive Office, the federal Government, and ministries in charge of specific sectors to ensure robust performance by the region as part of national projects and state development programs in 2026.

Over 15 billion rubles will go toward the social sector in 2026. The budget also provides for allocating 3.2 billion rubles as investment. Over 1.7 billion rubles will be earmarked for providing people with better housing.

“Our main objective is to enable people to maintain their quality of life. It is our duty to ensure that seasonal sea- and river-lift re-supply operations run smoothly, and that our people receive healthcare services. We will fulfill the obligations of the state in terms of transport availability, in education, culture, sports, and youth policy,” Irina Gekht pointed out.

The region is expected to continue working on 26 state programs, and its budget provides for funding 36 regional projects as part of 10 national projects.
