Murmansk Region to index public employees’ salaries
Since January 1, 2026, public employees’ salaries will be indexed by 4 percent, as reported by the Region Governor Andrei Chibis at a meeting of the Murmansk Region Duma.
“This is an important step to eliminate the pay gap in order to raise the motivation of specialists and enhance the region’s personnel potential,” stressed the head of the Murmansk Region.
One more stage of indexing social benefits by four percent is scheduled for July 1, 2026.
In addition, the minimum wage in the region will be raised by record high 20.7 percent to make up 62,300 rubles.
“This will cost 3.4 billion rubles for the regional budget. We are prepared to fulfill all our obligations with due account of the decisions taken and the Northern hardship bonuses to be paid from the regional budget,” noted Andrei Chibis.
