Kamchatka to host first ever national conference on Far Eastern and Arctic demography
The main events are scheduled for June 16-17, 2026. The conference will be attended by representatives of federal agencies, experts, regional leaders, and family support organizations.
The focus will be on how to boost birthrates. The conferees will also discuss effective measures to support families, young families’ development, early childhood, and inhabitants of remote territories. A separate panel will be dedicated to small indigenous peoples of the North.
“These topics are actively discussed at the federal level and it is important for us to use the conference as a venue for expanding collaboration with employers and experts,” Deputy Prime Minister of Kamchatka Viktoria Sivak said.
