A dedicated dredging fleet will be built for the Northern Sea Route, Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, announced during a meeting.“We will build a dredging fleet for operations along the Northern Sea Route. Within a week, we will finalize the President’s instruction on creating our own dredging fleet,” Yury Trutnev said.He noted that the project would help keep cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route at the planned level.Since 2020, Rosatom has carried out extensive dredging work at the Port of Sabetta to accommodate large-capacity vessels. The first phase of the project calls for the acquisition of dredging vessels capable of carrying out the work during the Arctic’s short navigation season.
