The first fetal surgery center in Russia’s Far East is scheduled to open early next year in the PrimoryeTerritory. The facility will perform in-utero surgeries to treat severe congenital conditions affecting unborn babies, as well as pregnancy complications, helping to save children’s lives and prevent serious health problems.
According to the press service of the Primorye Territory’s government, the new centerwill allow expectant mothers to receive expert diagnostic services and consultations with pediatric surgeons before childbirth. If necessary, they will also be able to undergo fetal surgery without having to travel to federal medical centers.
