Participants in the first meeting of the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s Maritime Council discussed the implementation of navigation season plans, deliveries of fuel and energy resources and the development of the port infrastructure, as per the press service of the regional government.Addressing the Council meeting participants, Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Mikhail Kotyukov noted that there were plans to deliver about 196,000 metric tons of fuel, petroleum, oil and lubricants to northern areas. Navigation is currently proceeding as planned; over 42 percent of planned fuel batches have already been delivered.“The fuel market situation remains complicated, and we therefore have to coordinate deliveries from refineries to end clients on a daily basis. It is necessary to coordinate positions with municipal clients and producers every day,” Mikhail Kotyukov stressed. In turn, the Head of the Taimyrsky Dolgano-Nenets Municipal District, Alexei Chlenov, noted that freight shipments had already been delivered to most remote towns.“Annual fuel deliveries to hard-to-reach communities are a highly important project for supplying Taimyr territories over nine to ten months. All shipments are delivered by water during the short summer period via three (Yeniseisk, Khatanga and Norilsk-Pyasino) directions,” he said. The Maritime Council of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is a new coordination body responsible for expanding navigation via the Northern Sea Route, establishing the industrial and scientific infrastructure of Arctic territories, protecting the environment of Arctic bodies of water and developing the tourist potential of the Arctic.
