Off-site meeting of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Presidium

From June 3 to 6, about 40 members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), heads of research institutes of the Ural Branch of the RAS, leading scientists, and representatives of the authorities and industrial enterprises will meet in Salekhard to discuss the current dynamics of tundra ecosystems, the results of engineering infrastructure monitoring, geological prerequisites for developing the region’s oil, gas and ore potential, as well as reindeer breeding and climate change.
The business program of the meeting includes reports on the projects that the Urals Branch of the RAS is implementing in the interests of the Russian Arctic zone, the reproduction of whitefish species in the Ob-Taz Basin, the creation of new composite materials for hydrogen fuel cells, and other fields of Arctic research.
