The fourth-generation stable high-speed mobile internet services are now available to residents and organizations in the village of Tilichiki, Olyutorsky District, Kamchatka Territory. The launch of LTE became possible after the local communications network was converted to a fiber-optic communication link (FOCL), the regional Government’s press service reports.
The work was carried out as part of a large-scale regional project that took off the ground in 2025.
Specialists have upgraded the equipment and transferred subscribers from the 2G\satellite arrangement to 4G that makes it possible to enhance channel capacity and stability, thereby removing restraints on the territory’s digital development.
The residents can now access state services, interactive TV, distance education, and telemedicine.
“In 2026, the regional project will be continued, with wide-band access and internet set to reach the villages of Khailino, Talovka, Kamenskoye, and Manily,” Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Kamchatka Territory Alexander Bannov said.
According to MTS Director for the Kamchatka Territory Yevgenia Salnikova, the village of Tilichiki is the administrative, social and logistical center for the entire Olyutorsky District. Therefore, converting the village to FOCL is an important strategic task.
Previously, FOCL became available to the villages of Ivashka, Karaga, Kostroma, Tymlat, and Ossora in the Karaginsky District.
