Murmansk Arctic University and Qingdao University, China, as well as Qingdao University and Trust Arktikugol signed bilateral cooperation agreements in Barentsburg, Spitsbergen Archipelago.According to the Murmansk Region Government press service, the agreements were concluded at the instruction of the Russian Federation Government to establish an international scientific and educational center on the archipelago.The priority tasks of the agreement include: development of educational programs, organization of practical training and research in Arctic medicine and human well-being in the northern latitudes, northern diplomacy, mining and minerals production, ecology and climate changes, as well as in construction technologies and materials in the Far North.“The executed agreements and the study of the available research experience in the archipelago and promising sites confirmed the important role of the Murmansk Region and Murmansk Arctic University in strengthening Russia's position in the Arctic, in developing cooperation with the People's Republic of China, in Russian science and education,” stressed Murmansk Arctic University Vice Rector for Educational Affairs Dmitry Nesterenko.

Murmansk Arctic University and Qingdao University, China, as well as Qingdao University and Trust Arktikugol signed bilateral cooperation agreements in Barentsburg, Spitsbergen Archipelago.
