Amur Region and Chinese province of Heilongjiang held extended talks on cooperation and developing cultural ties, according to the Amur Region Government press service.The parties noted that participation of Russian and Chinese creative teams in festivals and contests promote international relations, people-to-people diplomacy and creative ties. It also opens prospects for developing both Russian and Chinese culture.At the talks, Russian delegation proposed holding a ceremony of opening the 16th International Festival Russian-Chinese Culture and Art Fair. The festival program includes The Far East of the Craftsmen traditional contest and some events involving libraries, museums and national-level artistic teams from Russia and China.The Amur Region also invited the Heilongjiang Province Art College to take part in the joint cultural program at the opening of AmurExpo 2026 Russian-Chinese economic forum. The Chinese side has accepted the invitation.This year Russia and China succeeded in implementing a number of meaningful joint cultural projects, including the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival and the International Russian-Chinese Winter Sports Festival in Blagoveshchensk.“Our joint efforts and creative projects will continue to enhance friendship between the peoples of Russia and China opening new pages in the history of cultural cooperation,” underscored the Amur Region Minister of Culture and National Policy Nadezhda Dorgunova.
