The region ranks among the Northwestern Federal District’s three territories with the longest utility networks, upgraded with the support of the federal Government. In all, 43 kilometers of utility mains have been overhauled here since 2022, as per the press service of the Murmansk regional government.The region modernizes its utility infrastructure in accordance with the public program Living in the North, by renovating closed administrative-territorial entities and implementing investment programs of resource-supplying companies.“The Northwestern Federal District has built and renovated 131 utility facilities under just two housing and utility modernization programs, and 251 km of utility networks have been replaced,” Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin noted.This year, there are plans to replace over 14 km of utility mains in Murmansk and the Kola District under these programs.
