Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, instructed the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation to establish a transshipment hub for perishable products in the Far Eastern Federal District, as per the press service of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District.
“I have instructed the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation to study the possibility of establishing a hub, presumably in the Far East, in Khabarovsk, that would accumulate perishable products, and that would eventually deliver them to remote and hard-to-reach territories,” he told participants in a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Far East, the Arctic and Antarctica, affiliated with the Federation Council.
The Minister added that Far Eastern flag carrier Avrora would help organize this work, and that virtually all socially important perishable products would be delivered in line with their first cost. All regions, covered by the northern deliveries program, will also take part in this project.
