Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev, visited the Agoshkov Trans-Baikal Mining College which tops the National Rating 2026 among 86 secondary professional education institutions training specialists for the mining sector, in terms of graduates’ employment, as per the Plenipotentiary Envoy’s press service.“These educational institutions motivate people to stay and work in the Far East. I was amazed to learn that there are up to 30 applicants per vacancy. This education institution facilitates the development of the Russian economy because the mining sector ranks among those industries which help obtain essential federal budget revenues,” Yury Trutnev noted during the visit.According to Trans-Baikal Territory Governor Alexander Osipov, employers can see the high education levels of graduates; they support the college, upgrade its equipment, simulators and other educational aids.This academic year, the Trans-Baikal Mining College opened 14 upgraded academic zones with modern laboratories and equipment. Its mining equipment testing site was also overhauled.“We teach young people to operate equipment used at production facilities. Practice tools closely resemble their equivalents, now used by production workers. Our graduates are ready to work at mining sector enterprises,” Director of the Trans-Baikal Mining College, Nikolai Zykov, noted.Second-year students are extremely attracted by this approach, as well as by an opportunity to operate modern equipment and to undergo advanced training at partner enterprises. Over 3,000 people currently studying at the college will earn their degrees as medium-level specialists who are in high demand.
