Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin had a working meeting with the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev. The officials discussed the development of the regional road infrastructure. The road construction sector of Yakutia is to receive state funding worth 6.9 billion rubles, as per the press service of the regional government.
This year, there are plans to completely overhaul sections of the A-360 Lena, A-331 Vilyui and R-504 Kolyma motorways with a total length of 74.6 kilometers.
The meeting participants also discussed construction of a bridge crossing over the Lena River near Yakutsk. There are plans to complete this project by 2028; a two-lane bridge measuring 14.5 km with a daily capacity of up to 5,300 vehicles will be built. Earlier, no such structures were built in regions with adverse natural conditions, including super-low subzero temperatures, large-scale ice drifts and torrential flash floods.
