Over 35 billion rubles will be allocated to support garrisons and closed administrative-territorial entities (ZATOs) in the Murmansk Region, bringing total program funding from all sources to over 50 billion rubles, according to the regional government press service.At present, the region has 27 military settlements with a population of about 150,000 people. The allocated funds will be directed toward major repairs of apartment buildings, modernization of housing and utilities infrastructure, upgrades to road and social infrastructure, and the improvement of courtyard areas.“This is not just an infrastructure project, but a systemic effort to improve the quality of life for people living and serving in garrisons. In some areas, the share of military personnel and their families reaches 90 percent, so any decision here is of national importance,” Andrei Chibis emphasized.The program will cover the entire region: from the Pechengsky District and Kandalakshsky District to ZATOs such as Severomorsk, Aleksandrovsk, Vidyaevo, and Zaozyorsk.
