The Ministry of Education has approved 40 curricula for studying mother and state languages of Russian peoples. The list includes languages of indigenous Far Eastern nations, as per the press service of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District.The materials cover Grades 1-4, 5-9 and 10-11, in the context of mother language proficiency levels among school students, communicative objectives of linguistic studies, and a proactive approach toward developing speaking skills in conditions of multilingualism.Developed by the Federal Institute of Mother Languages of Russian Peoples, the curricula cover state languages of the Russian Federation’s republics, mother languages, reading literary works in mother languages and national literature.Today, tens of thousands of people, affiliated with indigenous nations, currently live in the Far East, including about 20,000 in the Khabarovsk Territory, 4,000 in the Sakhalin Region and about 1,500 in the Amur Region.

The Ministry of Education has approved 40 curricula for studying mother and state languages of Russian peoples. The list includes languages of indigenous Far Eastern nations, as per the press service of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District.
