A Project NE025 Favor rescue tug
Before entering service, the vessel successfully completed all essential tests and confirmed its readiness to accomplish preset objectives, as per the press service of the Marine Rescue Service.
The Project NE025 Favor rescue tug is designed to tow non-self-propelled barges, to drop and raise anchors, to install and remove navigational signs and to transport freight on its working deck. The tug can also support dredging and hydrotechnical operations, deliver and deploy systems for containing oil spills and slicks, without entering polluted areas, and it can help extinguish fires.
The Favor is the fifth, and last, Project NE025 vessel, developed in accordance with a federal project for upgrading the Northern Sea Route. The tug will be based in Arkhangelsk seaport.
