Investors in the Kamchatka Territory will now be eligible to automatically receive tax benefits if their projects underperform initial profitability forecasts, according to an announcement on the regional government’s website.
The initiative is part of a broader, unified preferential regime for the Far East. Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev, stated that the new system “should streamline decision-making for investors, improve project profitability, and provide support to priority industries.”
Kamchatka Governor Vladimir Solodov emphasized that the new incentives are designed to boost the region’s investment appeal and create more predictable conditions for businesses. He noted this is particularly critical for Kamchatka, given its demanding climate and complex logistics.
The regime will place a special emphasis on supporting tourism and technology projects. The minimum investment required to qualify for the benefits is set at 10 million rubles.
“We are already seeing how existing support measures are driving the development of the tourism industry: modern hotel complexes are being built, new clusters are forming, and jobs are being created,” Governor Solodov added. “A district-wide, single, preferential regime will accelerate the implementation of investment projects not only in tourism but also in technology and infrastructure. This will have a direct impact on the quality of life for Kamchatka residents and on the region’s sustainable economic development.”
